sooooo have you seen Miss Mint's new site??? And she is finally revealing herself! squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! I love her in case you haven't worked that out by now :D:D:D

So we've already broken the store :( and there are competitions going!! Oh no. I had to use stuff from my already overloaded Peppermint Creative stash! Oh the horror! I wanna spend money and I can't waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh.

I also did another for the totally RAD actions competition as well. But that is of boring old me so I am not posting hehe. Aren't my kids the most gorgeous things ever!!! (after your own of course)

Well I have been super duper busy!! It's school holidays here. And guess what? SICKNESS strikes AGAIN :( crikey has there been a week without a sick kid in this house??? Deacon came home from school Friday and slept until lunch time Saturday. He even missed out on his cousin's 2ND birthday. Jason & Kaylee went while we stayed home. Now Kaylee has been sick all day. UGH it is never ending.

Yesterday we had a day outside and went to fly our kites. Where is Dora the explorer? Ask the pilot of the jet she probably hit on her way up into space...cos that's where she was headed. I have no idea where she ended up because I had a bawling 2 year old to drag home devastated after losing her kite :(

So we went and rode bikes on the netball courts and made daisy chains.

Deacon is a whiz at Lego! He's building it on his own now. Following instructions etc...Jason paid waaaaay too much for the hardest leg ever released. The Millennium Falcon. A whopping 5000 pieces and made for 16 years +. Well guess what? Our 6 year old has almost completed it in a week :( Yeah THAT was totally worth the money...NOT! We are going to send in the photos of him building it to LEGO. Maybe they'll send him something :D who knows. Oh and we did NOT pay $1000 either gee whiz!!! We got it off ebay, crikey I had no clue it was worth that much!!! I still think we paid too much at 1/2 that price.

And lastly. We had a death in the family :( Chippers the baby rooster died on Saturday. Deacon incubated him at school and bought him home to keep. I have no idea why but he just carked it on Saturday morning. I tried everything to keep him but he didn't pull through. R.I.P Chippers.

The Spaghetti Incident

Sorry I couldn't resist a Guns n Roses reference lol.

Well a few things to catch up on. The Spaghetti Incident? Well Monday night Kaylee kept sneezing and rubbing her nose at dinner time, usually a sign of someone shoving something up their nose (Deacon & a bead comes to mind). Anyway we checked and checked and couldn't see anything. So we left it to see and in a few mins she got over it. So anyway yesterday morning Kaylee comes into the bathroom and sneezes....out out pops a 2" long piece of fettuccine!!! I don't think she shoved it up there, I think she sneezed or coughed while eating and it probably got blown up there??? Crazy!!

And now Deacon has the CHICKEN POX!!! All over. He was last in his class to get it and I hoped he'd mised it. Kaylee shouldn't get it because she has been vaccinated, but Deacon missed out on getting his CP needle.

We also had dress up day at school, I'll post some photo's later today. Deacon was Harry Potter and SO proud!! He still wears his cape lol. He was the only Harry Potter too and all the teachers LOVED his choice of book character.

Back later....I am off to Ballarat!! And buying a treadmill yay!! Starting on the weightloss bandwagon yet again. I've gained 5 kilos this year :(

OK this is cut #3 in a fortnight :( First time was at the side. Last week was the back with blunt toenail scissors! And tonight was a doozy! She got the paper scissors from the drawer and snuck into the lounge room while we were doing Deacon's reader for school and went CHOP!!

Worst part is we are having family photos on Saturday :( I am just so upset it is making me laugh. So silly. It's only hair...but she looks like she has a mullet!!! It's so gross.

And here are some snaps from Deacon's party on Saturday. It was so crazy I hardly had time to even take any photos:( While I absolutely LOVE my canon rebel...I find I take less photos since we got it. The old one was always just sitting at my desk handy. But this one has to be put away in its case and is a pain to get out, add a lens and go.

Well today is definitely REST DAY!

Yesterday was madness! Sooo many kids running around & screaming. But Deacon had fun and that is the point. The jumping castle was a major hit and luckily it held off raining until the party was over.

He got heaps of lego which is what he is into, and even Star Wars lego! His 2 favourite things :)

I'll post all of the photos tonight. I haven't even looked at them yet. All day has been clean up & recovery day. Too many lollies, too much chocolate! And I didn't even get a piece of birthday cake! bummer it looked soooo yummy too.

Today is deacon's party day!! The jumping castle will be here soon. I have to make the cake still, make the lolly bags, and go shopping. We have our pinata! woot.

On the 26th of June, 2008, 18 year old Mitchell House was involved in a very
horrific accident after driving into a herd of black Angus cows at around 2.00am
in the morning on his way to work.

After an amazing miracle Mitchell survived the accident and is now in the ICU at the Royal Hobart Hostpital on a very longroad to recovery with his parents, Michelle & Rodney by his side every minute.

They are 5 hours away from home and not able to work for quite some time
while he is still in such a serious condition SO some very AMAZING designers have come together to bring you this HUGE collab/charity kit to help raise some funds to financially help ease some of the burdens they have in front of them.

My little man is 6 today! yay but also boo hoo. My baby is growing up too fast.

We got a great deal on a Nintendo DS from ebay and he LOVED it! He also got some Lego, play doh, a remote control car & some Star Wars gear. He took a chocolate frog for each kid in the class today too.

Saturday is his party. We invited some kids from his class and he is so excited. Last year we didn't do a 'party' and I haven't heard the end of it. All he wants is a pinata too...so I have to organise that still.

At the trivia night the other week we won 4 hours hire of a full size jumping castle, so it's coming on Saturday too! I think the kids will all freak out!

I'll post some photos tomorrow. We had ice cream cake after dinner, but the REAL cake is Saturday. Mud cake, chocolate frosting, LOADS of lollies in the middle and malt sticks around the edge. This is what the little man has requested lol.

Big girl bed night #3

Well maybe all the pooping pooped her out? But night #3 was pretty successful. She slept till 4am. Came in for a cuddle & a bot. Went back for 10 mins, came in for a cuddle. Then went back until 8am. So I can handle nights like that! I just can't handle more poop stories lol. Thanks for making have a laugh, good to know we all have yucky situations like that now & again. I am just glad neither of mine have been poop eaters...I know kids who do that.....gross!!

Well we are off to Ballarat. I am having a well needed haircut! My treat. I am even thinking of a whole new style. We'll see and I promise a photo if I do. Tomorrow is hair colour day, too many greys! It's exactly a week since Paige was born and I haven't even taken the photo's off the camera! So bad.

I am also going online shopping tonight and buying some Miss Mint goodies, and have a scrap. I haven't been shopping there since Valentines day. So my treat tonight.

poo...that's right POO!

UGH I had just bathed the kids and they were all ready for bed. I came in from the laundry and Kaylee was bottomless (not an uncommon occurrence) and I noticed marks on her legs like big bruises. As I got closer I realised they were brown...and very smelly. OMG she had just had a poo on the floor, trampled it all over the carpet! And smeared it all over her body. I had no idea where to even start, Jason is at work. So we managed to take bath #2 for the day and then clean up the mess. I feel so gross and have sprayed every surface I can find. I'll have to get the carpet cleaners in to give the carpets a good clean. This is so disgusting! She has never done anything like this. And I have heard so many gross poo stories from friends before and always loved that I hadn't had to deal with a poo incident. Deacon never ever did this!

Well night #2 in the big bed wasn't so successful. About 3am I hear a little voice beside the bed "muuuuummmmmy" so she came in for a little cuddle and back to her bed. 10 mins later I can feel something ticking me on the back! So back to bed. Another 10 mins later she is climbing up onto Deacon's bed to wake him up. So this time she had to go into the cot which made her very upset, but at least we managed to get some sleep. So tonight is #3. Here's hoping.

Now I need a shower....ugh. Soooooo gross.

Kaylee slept in her big girl bed all night! yay.We are on night 2. So far I've been in twice, so I hope she settles down now. Last night she slept from 7.30 till 8am!! All in the big bed. Didn't even fall out. What a big girl.

Saturday night we went out to our local Playgroup's Annual Trivia Night. Last year our table won the night!! How sad that this year the theme was Aussie night and we came 3rd!! Oh man I know more about American TV & history than I do about Australia!!! I think we got ripped off on a couple of questions though. Everyone here knows that the original Mad Max movie had scenes shot in Clunes, about 15 mins from here. But the answer was Coober Pedy!!!! Crazy!! It was such a fun night all the same. And stupid me wrote the wrong answer down even though I KNEW the right one!!! arggggg it happened a couple of times. But maybe I was a little tipsy? I had 3 fruit tingles (blue curacao, vodka and raspberry) and I haven't touched a drink in over 6 years!!

I'll post some fun photos later in the week. My friend Megan will kill me for it!

I even found time to scrap this weekend.

Whoa it's well overdue!! I haven't been in for a while!!

Just some snaps from Ella's birthday the other week. We had a blast. It was held in a big indoor amusement centre and the kids just went haywire!!

It's been school holidays here for 2 weeks now so next week will see us return to normal again. It's just been the coldest most miserable winter ever here! We've had so much sickness as well. We all got gastro (spews & poos) then eye infections and now colds. I'll be glad to feel normal again :(

To all the people who gave me wonderful emails and show of support recently.

I can't say too much. But recently I was involved in an issue of a designer taking items from my kits and reselling them as her own. As well as erasing my borders to make her own. A few of you saw my little picture I posted before I got a chance to take it down.

Anyway without going into a big drama I just wanted to say thanks to everyone.

I don't go around accusing people willy nilly and I did have a lot of proof to back up my story. And unfortunately the designer in question didn't or didn't even make an attempt to prove me wrong. She has stopped selling now. But is opening a new store soon, so I'll be keeping an eye out as will a lot of designers I'd say.

So lets move on!

My mojo was zapped well and truly as you can imagine. BUT it has come back 3 fold! So what does that mean??? That means a grab bag for July! With all NEW products. So far I am up too over 10 separate items with even more to come! It has all different types too, rainbow colours, muted boy-ish colours, metals, acrylics, black, glitter....the list goes on!!

I am still working on it soooooo if you have any requests they just might make it in!

We had a day out yesterday and I'll post some photo's soon. We went to Ella's 2nd birthday at Fun Bugs and it was a hoot! Both kids just went crazy!!! Like they had been let out of the zoo or something. So back later with some photo's I hope.

This is what started my digital scrapbooking journey.
This layout is that started it all.

I was a paper scrapper who hung out and posted layouts at twopeas for years. It was the only site I ever visited and I had no idea there was anything else out there.

Then one day I spied this gorgeous layout by Juliet (Ranie). I tried and I tried to re create it with paper but the results were always so disappointing.

Then probably on my 100th visit to her gallery to stare at this layout I noticed one of the tags said 'digitally created'. I couldn't believe this work of art was made on a computer!!! All digital layouts I had seen before this in Creating Keepsakes were so boring and looked digital. Until this.

So I asked a friend about digital...what programs to use etc. And of course we always have photoshop at home through Jason's work. Here I am using it to resize photos! Never even knew what a layer, a style, or an action even was! Crazy.

Then the hunt started...I was a BIG time freebie hunter! Miss Mint & Shabby Princess started me out. Those girls are the best!

And this is how I even found my way to DST eventually.

With the layout above I followed the credits to Catscrap. Actually making my first ever online purchase. Catrine's Aged Frames. Then browsing the gallery I found someone had done a scraplift of this page: and linked it to Juliet's DST gallery. Once I found her DST gallery I was officially a stalker! lol. Then the rest is history!! (see how important credits are!)

When I grow up I want to be just like Ranie hehe.

Here are my embarrassing rip off's and keep in mind they were using mostly freebies too. I think the only item I used that I had actually purchased at this stage was the swass brushes by Shandy Vogt.

Before I realised scraplifting didn't mean recreating someone's page exactly the same! Oh and I hadn't even discovered shadows yet! lol Oh and they are like my 3rd or 4th attempts at scrapping so no laughing!!

Oh my I hate looking back at old pages! hehehe

Oh my freaking god is all I can say about the comment some anonymous loser left on my blog post yesterday.

In case you missed it, here it is again:

I hate to think what you're doing to this child's self-esteem by calling her evil, and doing it in public is disgusting. If you think she's evil, she will grow up to prove you right. Maybe you need to spend more time with her instead of blogging ugly things about your child. You and she need professional help.

Any 'normal' parent would know that her "Evil McEvil" nickname is exactly that! A NICKNAME!!

Kaylee is the most adorable, happy, loving, sweet little girl ever! So that just shows what horrible parents we must be huh? To have 2 of the best children a parent could ever ask for?

Oh I could post all of our other nicknames like Mrs Bum, cutie pie, Angel Pop etc....but that wouldn't have been as funny now would it? Or I could bore you with my constant drivel about what perfect children I have. But instead I choose to highlight the funny things. We call Deacon Nobby, doesn't make for good reading now does it? Or will that cause him to become a psycho later on?

So out of all the visitors I have ever had it seems that only one has ever felt the need to attack me. Says more about YOU doesn't it? I feel sorry for you that you don't have an ounce of fun in your body. As if I really think my child is evil??? And you think I go around telling her she is? No it is a joke. We used to call her Evil Knieval when she would climb and do crazy stuff before she could even walk...then Deacon called her Evil Mc Evil and it stuck.

So how about you take a good look at your own life before coming and bashing mine. And how about you take a chill pill and have some fun in your life. Your kids will appreciate you for it. All I hear is blah blah blah from you Ned Flanders. Go tell someone who cares cos' no one here does.

Oh and lastly "Maybe you need to spend more time with her instead of blogging ugly things about your child" mmm when exactly should I spend more time with her? When she is in bed sleeping and I am blogging? You really think it takes me all day to blog? Lets see, she's awake for a total of 14 hours a day and I spend all 14 home with her and use the computer at night when they are asleep and during the day when it is nap time. So tell me exactly how I can spend MORE time with her? I'd love to know.

Maybe you are a mum who ignores your kids all day while you sit at the computer but I am not. My kids are my life and are my #1 priority from the time they wake up until the time they go to bed at night. At least my kids are well fed, clean, happy, and loving. Maybe you should take more concern with kids who are in real trouble and are neglected and abused. Heck one little girl in my son's class never has breakfast, goes to school without socks, has no teeth, constantly has head lice, and only ever has lunch in her bag 2 days out of 5...if she is lucky.

When I read the comment this morning I actually laughed out loud because it is so off the mark. And I feel a little sorry for you that you have too hurt others to feel good about yourself. If it were true I'd just delete the comment. But as it is so ridiculous it is actually funny I'll let everyone see it! If you don't like what I write then don't read it! Period!

I wonder if anyone else calls there kids funny names too?

Oh and you'll LOVE the kit I have planned...Deliciously Evil!!! With loads of devil horns, angel wings and more. Just for those little angels and devils out there. I think Kaylee has a tshirt that says 50% naughty 50% nice. Sums up most kids I think!

Kaylee turned 2 today. We just had a VERY small little day for her. Some visitors and a cake. Next year will be her turn for a 'real' party! She got a fantastic doll stroller from her Nan Sharyn. And Nana Joss & Poppy gave her a cute little wooden table & chair set. We gave her more dolly furniture. And she got some clothes etc....at 2 they don't know what is going on really. She ended up dirty from head to toe as usual...no pretty party dresses here!

Hi all!

I have saved my shadows as a style for anyone who wants them.
I didn't realise Elements users could match them from my graphic I include in my kits.
But they will work when saved as a style.

I made 3 most commonly used by me.

One small shadow for items close to the paper.

One which I tend to use the most. And this is what I use on my clusters in kits.

And one which is far away. Mainly for items like butterflies etc...to look like they are floating.

They are brown color. So you may have to adjust the colour to black for darker pages.
And vice versa for pastels.

What's in a name?

Hi guys.

I have to post a little about some PM's and emails I have been getting recently. A lotof people have contacted me about this thread at DST HERE. Thanks for keeping an eye out for me and I really appreciate your concerns. Maria's last name is Fergason...hence the name Ferg Designs.

And I don't own the rights to using Flergalicious or Fergalicious as the case may be. This is a spin on the song by Fergie as most people would know.

And lastly people have pointed out a kit name similar to mine, but there are loads of Secret Garden kits if you look. And mine certainly wasn't the first. It is a book and a movie and a common name to use. And I was even accused by someone at DST a little while ago of stealing the kit name from another designer!
So I know how it feels to have people saying things that aren't true.

So thanks for keeping an eye out for my guys, I really appreciate it but it's all cool.
We sell at different stores and have totally different styles. There's no hard feelings between us.

Just remember one has an L and one doesn't lol!
No flames here, just 2 designers with some similar name choices.

And I promise I didn't have a secret CT call like my CT member Lynn thought! hahaha.

I got Natali Design's Freshness kit tonight and whipped up a Kaylee page!

And I had a damn marketer come to sell me gas & electricity at 6.30 pm tonight! Right at dinner time when I have to go pick up Jason from work. Kids are fighting & crying, dinner is cooking. And he was so pushy and wouldn't take no for an answer.
And 2 weeks ago here in my town a girl was almost raped by a marketer. He pushed his way into her house and sexually assaulted her. Thank god her boyfriend came home in time!
I really hate them coming to my house. I know it is their job but if I wanted to change providers I would call them right?

What are you talking about? I hear you say.....

It is Kaylee's nickname.

Not sweetie, sugar, puddin, angel...........it's Evil McEvil.

I haven't got the photo's yet but so far this week she has chopped off the front portion of her hair, waxed off her left eyebrow with my eyebrow wax, stuck a pin in my boob, almost got the potatoes off the stove & poured ice cream in my handbag.

That is just the recent events. There are far too many to list. My house & couch are covered in pen, she has wrecked our digital set top box somehow, toast etc in the DVD player, poured chocolate milk straight onto the NEW set top box remote control, scrapes DVD's & CD's on the tiles, and much more.

When I pick her up from Mum's every Thursday she says "Thanks God you're here....please take her home" so heaven knows what she has put my poor Mum through all day!!!

Oh and I forgot yesterday her brother left the laundry door open. So while I was in the shower she escaped through the doggy door and got onto the trampoline!!! OMG if she fell off it she would be in so much trouble. It is over concrete, I'd hate to think what would happen.

I am in for some serious trouble when this chick hits 14!

Well I got a sleep in for Mother's day which was good. My gift was my new monitor from last week. But Deacon made me a gorgeous card and I got a recipe book from his class. He was so proud.

We went and saw Mum. I gave her some new jeans and a beautiful knitted top. The kids gave her some flowers.

We went back later for dinner. SO good, corned beef & vegetables then golden syrup dumplings & pavlova for dessert!!!

A great relaxing Mother's Day. I even managed to make some bracket shaped Quick Pages when the kids went to bed. So much fun.

And today was the big final meet of Deacon's Little Athletics club. Oh he had so much fun! He came home with four ribbons and a medal!!!

Shot put: 2nd
100 metre run: 5th
Long Jump: 4th
Discus: 2nd.

And he got a silver medal for overall imporvement etc...he was just so happy to get ANYTHING! We are so proud. I think it was the best day of his life!

I'll post some photo's tomorrow. My camera batteries are dead. I managed to snap a few before they died on me. I love that little man!! He is back to school tomorrow. I am almost crying already!

Hi all. Nothing much to tell lately. It's a bit of a bore all around here. School holidays & work, that's about it!

Yesterday we all went out for a shopping day. We went to play mini golf which was cool. Deacon loved it, Kaylee was a bit scared though. There is a Jurassic Park theme with animated Dinosaurs & she didn't like the growling. But Deacon had a ball, he's such an excitable little man. But he got in troube ealier in the day.....walked straight out from the gutter, didn't look where he was going. Luckily he got yanked back by his jumper! Gave us a major scare. But it was a good day all around.

Jason & I saw Dan in real life, it was a fabulous movie. I really liked it. Steve Carrell is such a hoot.

Today was just an inside movie day. We stayed late in our PJ's and had a veg out all day. We watched some feelgood movies, but I always cry anyway. I am hopeless! LOL. We did some paper craft.

Deacon's is all better too, his lip was down by that same night. Hopefully it was just a once off.

Everyone have a great Easter? We sure did. Our fridge is so full of eggs I feel sick just looking at them!

Well my poor baby (Deacon) has been to the doctor today. An allergic reation to something, we don't know what. He has some medication now and so far it has gone down a bit.

I just put this in store. For all of the dog lovers, but also it is full of non-dog elements & papers for regular layouts. I'm working on those denim borders as we speak.

Well I have been quiet lately haven't I!! I have installed Vista & have spent all week basically re installing everything I need as well as having CS3 crash everytime I try to design something!!!

This gorgeous new look is all thanks to my beautiful friend Nicole (and her hubby Travis too). She is a whiz I tells ya! Isn't it all so gorgeous!

Everything in my header is mine and all except the butterfly's are included in my Easter freebie collab coming soon. Here is a sneaky peek of what I have for you this time around from the sunshine gals!

Also I have been madly working on grab bags! One for boys & one for girls. Everything is NEW. Girls is of course traditional pinks & purples with some silver as well. And loads of glitter too of course! Boys is non-traditional. Not much blue. More darker, black, khaki, gold etc....excellent for older boys and of course teenagers! There will be a hint of each in the next newsletter out later this week. And of course the grab bags should be in store by the weekend too!

OK Kaylee is sick AGAIN! This time she has croup. Poor little thing has been at the doctor 2 days in a row. She has been on the nebuliser and is almost back to 100%.

Glitter in PSP & other programs

I have someone working on a PSP glitter tutorial too. You can certainly use my glitter in PSP and any other program. But NOT the GEL, that is ONLY a style fpr PS & PS Elements.

All glitter packs come with 8 matching PNG glitter fills. You can use these in any program. Clip them to your shape, use them as a texture etc....when I have some screenshots I will be sure to put them up!!

Glitter Tutorial

This might be of some help to some of you fellow glitter addicts? Sometimes when you use glitter in a canvas smaller than 3600 x 3600 it defaults back to 45% and looks less than perfect.

Tutorial is for Photoshop. I have no idea about elements sorry. But maybe you can decipher my instructions ito help you in Elements?

To adjust the size of the glitter in PSdouble click here:

Then adjust this slider to make it look 'right'

Want it to look like sprinkled glitter?

Choose a round or square brush, 25px-50px is good.

Set it to Scatter.

And also play with the size jitter & angle jitter.

Play with the spacing.

Then brush, and add glitter style to finish! Also adding a very small shadow makes it look more 3D.

Thank god I found CS3!! Woo hoo it was in our ancient laptop. Jason remembered I tried to install it so I could design in bed or out in the shed etc...but it was so ancient it wouldn't even install.

Kaylee is almost back to normal. So far today we only had a few little screaming fits, and no having to nurse her in the armchair all day. But she has now got spots on her chest & back, if they are still there tomorrow we will be paying the doctor a visit again. But they don't seem to be bothering her at all. Plus the poor mite has 3 bottom molars breaking through all at once. And this kid is impossible to give pain killers to so she has to just put up with it. Deacon would drink a whole bottle of medicine if I let him. But Kaylee almost bit my finger off today trying to give her some nurofen :(

Well that's about it. No more designs, no scrapping, no anything!!

Hi all. A litle update. 2 harddrives are ok, 2 are gone. They are actually wiped, and everything is gone for good at this stage.

The 2 surviving ones had all of my downloads, CU stuff & designing tools. And the glitter! And of course most important of all my photos.

I have lost all new stuff I was working on though.

Kaylee is still sick. She has anti biotics but is impossible to give them to. So I slip them in a bottle of milk every now & again. First she had a raging fever & was just sleepy, now she is a screaming mess. Pretty much just screams and sleeps all day & night. I have had to sit in the armchair with her all day & most of the night. Luckily now she is alseep.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words & thanks Liv for offering my old files back. Luckily they are all in store so I can get them all if I need.

And last night we plugged my harddrives into Jason's computer to check what I had left, then when we were finished his computer died!!! OMG all night he was stressing out. Luckily it is running again, and I can check my mail etc....I even managed to put CS2 on! It is so crappy compared to my lovely CS3 but it was my only option. My CS3 is missing somewhere and I have hunted high & low for it.

Lastly my friend Monica of MGL Scraps has her part of the Love Actually kit up!! Looks gorgeous too so rush over & snap it up!

CT Competition Update

Hi all. I have finally contacted everyone (I hope) there were a few who didn't leave any contact details so I am sorry I couldn't find a way to thank you personally. Also I cannot seem to even create an account at Scrap Artist to PM anyone. So sorry, I don't know what is happening.

I am also getting around to leaving you all comments on your entries wherever I can. Only places I can't seem to be Scrap Artist & 2Peas.

So please if I have missed anyone I am so sorry. I have tried to be as thorough as possible with contacting you all. I might go through again one more time this week to make sure.

Sorry but I have only had time to contact a total of 5 people to be my guest CT members. SO if you think you are not on the list because I haven't contacted you, it isn't true. I am doing my best to sort out my year ahead and as you can imagine I have been very busy this week with my new store opening on the same day as my son started school.

I will make it my duty to contact all future guests. Please be aware that I am already up to May so a guest CT month may not by until very late this year or even early next year!!

I am only human so please forgive my slow response and I am still trying to leave every single entrant some love on their layouts. If I had known how negative this CT competition would end up I never would have started t and I'm sorry if anyone is upset by it. Wow!! Today was Deacon's day alrighty!!

First up another awesome day at school. Then we went shopping after and the check out lady gave him some stickers. He says "aaaw you are the nicest lady ever!" then she gave him some more for having such good manners, so he went around the back and gave her a kiss! I think he made her day a lot brighter.

Then off we go to the bakery for a treat and the sweet guy gave Deacon & Kaylee an iced donut each for free!! WOW he got the message today that good manners go a long way.

This is so funny too I have to share. Last week we were getting ready to go to the pool, and the house was like a bombsite so I said "We are not going until this house is tidy, please put your toys away & clean your room, the faster you do it, the faster we can go". So away Deacon goes and is cleaning up all of his mess and as quick as she can, Kaylee is messing it all up again. So I hear this from out in the lounge (Deacon to Kaylee) "Maybe if we put our toys away before bedtime, we wouldn't have so much to clean up in the daytime?"

woo hoo! He finally got it!! Now Deacon's room is spotless, he even closes the door so Kaylee can't go in & mess it up again. Now he wants to even do the dishes every night. I hope his future wife/girlfriend appreciates this!! LOL. I seriously have the best by a mother could ever ask for. And I felt to teary doing these layouts for him, so proud of what an outstanding young man he has already become.

Hi all!

Well I took a break today and decided I would devote some time to scrapping this week.

First up I got Lorie Davison's ultra massive & stunningly gorgeous kit "twitterplated Passion Collection" (phew say that 10 times quick!) My god it is HUGE!!! and is so gorgeous I know I will use it to death!!

My gorgeous friend Andrea sent me a gift certificate for shopping at Tracy Ann's today! So I FINALLY went shopping at Tracy Ann Digital Art. Now I know why I was holding off soooo long! Man o man I had to stop before I emptied my paypal!!! God I love TADA stuff! I got it, I opened it, I LOVE it!!

We had such a hard time deciding the winner of this competition. I was overwhelmed with the awesome response I had from you all. I really truly appreciate the effort you all went to and the layouts you all sent in were amazing.

Please don't be discouraged to apply for CT calls in future. There is some amazing talent out there and you never know what a designer is after. The winner wasn't just chosen by me, my CT girls all had their input and in the end we voted.

Sorry I haven't had the chance to contact you all personally, but I have had such a mad & busy few weeks I cannot explain! I have all of your details & layouts, galleries etc kept for future reference for future CT positions as well as guest CT spots. I have enough for the next few years to never need an actual CT call!!!

Worst parent ever!!!

I will get to the meaning of my title in due time!

Well it has been a fantastic response to my CT competition so far. Entries are dwindling right down now so it is getting easier to view all of the layouts. Wow we have had some awesome pages entered and man o man is it a hard job deciding!!!

A bit of a toot firstly! My local paper has started using some of my elements for their advertising features. I made some notepapers, cork board, thumbtacks, post it notes etc...for their back to school special. And today I did stuff for their future Valentines Day feature. So I am kind of published!! LOL.

Saturday we went to the beach at Queenscliff. A miserable weather day, 18C, wet, overcast, cold. So we didn't bother with any sunscreen for any of us. Lo & behold if Kaylee isn't burnt to a crisp!!! She is red as a beetroot the poor little thing and we feel like we are the worst parents ever! Even Britney would remember the sunscreen on a wet day! :( She has blisters even.

Other than that it was a fab day. It was actually quite nice in the water even though the weather was so miserable. Photos from Kaylee's first day at the beach.

Glitter!

I have had a lot of questions about glitter recently. So it is probably easier for me to do this little info post.

My glitters are compatible with Photoshop 5+ maybe earlier but I am unsure. Photoshop Elements 3 through to 6. PSP & Photo Impact! And probably other programs too.

The photoshop versions are an ASL file. The other programs are in 8 PNG files which you use like a texture or pattern etc....

Here are the installation steps for the versions I have tested:

How to Install Custom Layer Styles

Elements 6:
C: > Documents and Settings (Vista computers: substitute Program Data for Documents and Settings) > All Users > Application Data > Adobe > Photoshop Elements > 6.0 > Locale > en_us > Photo Creations > Layer Styles.

- Linda gives some extra steps to make things a bit 'prettier' to, but getting the style file into the Layer Styles folder is all you need to do to get them installed and useable from what I am understanding.

Elements 5 under Windows XP: Place the *.asl files into a folder with the same name as the *.asl file under:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Photo Creations\special effects\layer styles\

Elements 5 under Windows Vista: Place the *.asl files into a folder with the same name as the *.asl file under:

Elements 4 and lower: Place the *.asl files into:
Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements X\Presets\Styles where X is the version number for your version of Photoshop Elements.

For photoshop & PSE: To get the best results you should have a play with your pattern overlay settings. The % of the pattern will make a big difference to how you glitter will look. I usually use mine set at 200% and that is what the glitter is saved at. But sometimes it defaults back to 48% and I have no idea why. So if it ever looks REALLY bad just play around with the % settings. I'm not sure about elements but in PS you can double click the thumbnail in the layers palette, then adjust the % slider in the pattern overlay section.

Here is an example of difference on a 3600x3600px paper.

Thanks for all your well wishes for my little Kaylee. She has recovered well from the hives, but now has gastro! She is such a tiny girl and now this has made her seem so skinny & fragile. She is 19 months old and only weighs 19Lb/8.9kg. Which is quite small. And last time she got gastro it lasted 10 whole days, she lost a lot of weight with it and I hope it doesn't happen again. She can't be too sick though, this morning I left her asleep in my bed. When I went to check on her she was gone, had escaped out the doggy door and was playing outside!!
